Bard College has a new head coach for mens and womens volleyball.

The college’s Department of Athletics & Recreation named Stefanie Carrington, from Dominican College, as the new coach and assistant athletic director.

New public radio station on the air in Red Hook

The Hudson Valley now has an independent, local NPR alternative. Robin Hood Radio, which broadcasts from the Marckres House on the green in Sharon, Connecticut, is now re-transmitting their combination of NPR and locavore programming to the Hudson Valley on 88.1 FM, WLHV, Annandale-on-Hudson.

Election Day, for many, was a first time to vote

It was impossible to miss that Nov. 6, 2012 was Election Day at the Bard College campus. Shuttles ran between campus and local polls on the half hour. Students wore stickers that read, “I voted!” The community was abuzz about the election and how each voter had participated.
