Grand jury hands up 94 counts against Democrat Fran Knapp, including criminal charges on absentee ballots

Dutchess County Democratic Elections Commissioner Fran Knapp has been indicted on multiple criminal charges relating to allegations of tampering with absentee-voter records.

At a caucus July 19, the candidates chosen by unanimous vote included three incumbents: Town Supervisor Aileen Rohr, and council members Emily Svenson for Ward 1 and Ken Schneider for Ward 4. In addition, Cindy Todd was chosen for Receiver of Taxes, David Ray for Ward 2 Councilman and Hannah Behrens for Ward 3 Councilwoman.

A more engaged town government and improved local-state coordination are the highlights of the Rhinebeck Democratic Party’s just-released platform on which Democratic candidates will run in local elections in November.

Dutchess Dems endorse Rubenstein for Family Court judge

Rubenstein, an attorney for more than 25 years, is now a Court Attorney Referee in Dutchess County Supreme Court who presides over divorce cases and foreclosure mediation conferences. She previously served as Principal Court Attorney to the Senior Family Court Judge Valentino T. Sammarco, whose 10-year term ends this year.
