The Rhinebeck Lady Hawks team, who played some of their best basketball of the season visiting the Tri-Valley Bears in the opening leg on the Section 9 Class C playoffs, dropped their final matchup with the Bears Feb. 25, losing 44-37.

Plans to double county’s recycling rate over next 10 years

According to the plan, 23 percent, or 58,530 tons, of materials were diverted from the waste stream through recycling in 2010, a percentage similar to the recycling average across the state. “Rethinking Waste” sets a goal of nearly 60 percent, or 152,225 tons, to be recycled by 2021 in Dutchess County.

Medical group seeks subdivision approval

The Mid Hudson Medical Group is seeking subdivision approval from Rhinebeck to create a building lot for a new bank in the Stop&Shop plaza on Route 9, which they hope to lease to Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.

The Rhinebeck Hawks hosted Highland in their last home game of the season on Feb. 20, with a larger-than-normal crowd in attendance for the match.
