Eleanor B. “Nana” McKinney, 92, of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at the Kingston Hospital.
For many years & until her retirement, Eleanor worked as an assembler with the Phelps Dodge Cable & Wiring Co. in Yonkers, NY.
She was a former member of the Hendrick Hudson Chapter #814, O.E.S., Red Hook, & the Red Hook Post #7765, VFW – Ladies Auxiliary.
Born on October 22, 1919, in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of the late William & Martha (Haycraft)Brown. Eleanor married John J McKinney in 1939 in Yonkers & he predeceased her on April 3, 2001.
She is survived by a son & daughter in law; John & Linda McKinney of Red Hook, four grandchildren; Allan Hill of Brooklyn, Ralph (Lorraine)Hill of Arkansas, Ashley McKinney of Red Hook, & Karian (Jason) Clelland of Tivoli, three great grandchildren; Cody & Kayley Clelland, & Mason Fluegel, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins & extended family.
In addition to her husband, Eleanor was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Hill, & two grandsons; Bruce & Russell Hill
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM with the Reverend Fred C. Cartier officiating. Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be made in Eleanor’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
