Nancy L. Rose, 73, a lifetime area resident, passed away on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.
For many years she and her husband were the owners and operators of a residential home for disabled Veterans. Nancy took great pride in caring for the Veterans staying at her home and she treated all of them as though they were family.
In addition to spending time with her grandchildren and the Veterans, she enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks-particularly Long Lake, playing Bingo, and working with ceramics.
Born on November 13, 1938, in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edwin P. and Isabelle (Rockefeller) Clum.
Nancy married Charles R. Rose, Sr on March 8, 1958 in Red Hook and he predeceased her on May 20, 2008.
She is survived by her two sons; Charles “Butch” (Cindy) Rose, Jr. of Tivoli, and David G. Rose of Chatham, NY, two brothers; Edwin (Lynn) R. Clum of Tivoli, and Randy (Marcia) Clum of Tivoli, two sisters; Jeanette (Bob) Bushnell of Germantown, and Roberta (Donald) Coons of Elizaville, five grandchildren; David Rose, Jr, Steven Rose, Annie Rose, Charles “Jake” Rose III and Lucas Rose, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter; Wanda May Rose in 2000.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 from 10 – 11 AM. Funeral services will be held at 11 am with the Rev. Alan Thayer officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook.
