Elinor Williams, 88, a long time resident of Red Hook, NY, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck, NY.
For many years Elinor was a Real Estate Broker in the Red Hook and Tivoli area.
Born July 16, 1923 in Halcott Center, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wardell Ballard and Bessie (Meade) Ballard. She graduated from Kingston Business School, and, in 1948, she married Benjamin H. Williams. He pre-deceased her on December 1, 2005.
Elinor is survived by her 3 children: Wayne (Penny) Williams of Ancram, NY, Jacqueline Williams of Wappingers Falls, NY, and Doris Yvonne (Jon) Peterson of Cottonwood, AZ, a brother and 3 sisters: Donald Ballard of Prattsville, NY, Cora White of Rotterdam, NY, Betty Battisto of E. Greenbush, NY, and Ellen Todd of Gasport, NY, 6 grandchildren: Paul Williams, Leah Castle, Justin Peterson, Kaleb Peterson, Kerry Schmidt, Dave Schmidt, and Aimee Morris, 4 great grandchildren; Michael Castle, Julie Castle, Ashton Fantauzzo, and Braeden Morris. Several nieces & nephews also survive her.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, on Tuesday from 9 am to 11am. Funeral services will be held at 11 am with the Rev. Eric Titus officiating. Interment will be at Halcott Cemetery, Halcott Center, NY.
