Wager concedes assembly race to Barrett

In a statement released to the media today, Rich Wager has all but conceded the race to Didi Barrett in the 103rd Assembly District:

“It is becoming apparent in the recount for the 103rd State Assembly race, that I will likely fall a few votes short of victory. This was a hard-fought race, and one that unfortunately turned sharply negative in the closing week. I will not second guess my decision to stay positive throughout the campaign, which was firmly focused on economic development for the Hudson Valley.”

The republican went on to congratulate his opponent and to say that he has not yet decided whether he will contest the redrawn district that Barrett will face in November.

Didi Barret, a democrat, will represent Red Hook and Milan and the rest of the 103rd Assembly District until year’s end.
