It was announced at the Milan town board meeting on March 19 that Milan’s use of solar panels to generate energy at the Town Garage has cut the total energy bill from $2,873.63 in July 2010 through February 2011 to $1,565.82 from July 2011 through February 2012, yielding a total savings of 45.5 percent, which translates to a savings of $1,307.81, in addition to a 65.9 percent reduction in commercial energy use.
