Cecil W. Moore, Jr, 61, a lifelong Red Hook resident, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.
For over 34 years Cecil was a mechanic with the Red Hook Central School. He also served for over 22 years as the Town of Red Hook Dog Control Officer.
A devoted NASCAR fan, Cecil was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and most recently Tony Stewart. He also rooted for the Oakland Raiders NFL team.
Born on August 16th, 1950, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of Myrtle (Ingles) Moore of Red Hook and the late Cecil W. Moore, Sr. He was a graduate of the Red Hook Central Schools.
Cecil married Catherine Teator in 1974 at St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook and she survives at home in Red Hook.
In addition to his loving wife and mother, he is survived by a son; Daniel Moore and his wife Kristen of Hyde Park, two daughter’s; Catherine Moore of Red Hook, and Kimberly Simmons and her husband Scott of Elizaville, NY, three grandchildren; Haileigh, Alexandra, and Joshua,
two brothers; Dale Moore of Red Hook, and Donald Ogden of Livingston, NY, a sister in law; Sharon Teator of Oneonta, NY, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20th, 2012 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook. The Rev. LeRoy T. Ness will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
