Born October 20, 1931 in Salem, OH, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Evelyn (Smith) Parana. She grew up in Warren. OH and worked for the City of Warren Water Department prior to her marriage to Roland T. Dupont on September 29, 1956. They were married in Warren.
Jean was a homemaker, bird watcher, and avid reader, and an active member of St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook. For many years she sang with the Rhinebeck Choral Society.
She is survived by her husband, Roland T. “Ron” Dupont, her children: Cindy and her husband George Ogden of Princeton, NJ, Judy and her husband Daniel Kearney of Ulster Park, NY, Ronald T. and his wife Karen Dupont of Garner, NC, and Robert J. and his wife Donna Dupont of Red Hook, and six grandchildren: Dylan and Rylee Ogden, Griffin and Reece Kearney, Ryan and Gianna Dupont. A sister: Margaret Russell of Marietta, GA, two brothers: Alfred Parana, Jr. and James Parana both of Warren, OH, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am on Saturday, Nov. 19th, at St. Christopher’s Church, 7423 S. Broadway, Red Hook. The Rev. Patrick Buckley will officiate. Burial will be at St. Sylvia’s Cemetery, Tivoli.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, on Friday from 5 – 8 pm.
