Graveyard tours traverse St. James’

St. James’ Episcopal Church in Hyde Park is again presenting its ever-popular Historic Graveyard Tours.

With interactive dialogue and a choral performance, the 5th annual tours feature seven “residents” of St. James’ graveyard ready to entertain, enlighten and educate those in attendance. Visitors will be led by lantern light through the churchyard, at 4526 Albany Post Road, as professional actors and enthusiastic volunteers offer insight on the life – and death – of some important, yet little known, historic figures of the mid-Hudson Valley, including a priest, a psychologist, a church organist, a wealthy couple and the13-yr. old granddaughter of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.

The half-hour tours, held on Friday and Saturday nights through Oct. 31, start at 7pm and run through 8:30pm. Tickets are $15 for those ages 13 and up and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Those under 5 are not encouraged to join because of the subject matter. Advanced ticket purchases are encouraged and can be purchased online at www.stjameshistoricgraveyardtours.com.
