Red Hook Men’s Basketball League playoffs underway

With school sports coming in, the Red Hook Men’s Basketball League is moving out, with single elimination playoffs underway in both the A and B/C divisions.

In the playoffs, Hawks bounced Break Point Tennis, 50-42; Travis Banks led with 18 for Hawks. Dutchess Beer took it to the final seconds against Arlington, beating them 58-55; Dan Hoystadt led all scorers, again with 21.

In regular season A Division play, Matt Parr Insurance beat Break Point, 55-46, in a game led in scoring by Parr’s Beau Smith with 18. Bard Alumni squeaked by Arlington, 51-50; Alumni’s Frank Stortini led with 25 points. Dutchess Beer’s final regular season game was a 64-58 victory over Hawks; Dan Hoystadt of Dutchess led with 21.

Ryan McCann Insurance dropped their final two games of the regular season. McCann fell to Village Pizza, 49-38, in a game led in scoring by Rich Murfett of Village with 19, and to Spectrum Graphics, 51-49, in a game led in scoring by McCann’s Jesse Smith with 19. B/C’s other insurance team fared better: Matt Parr Insurance beat Colonial Subaru 50-47 in a game led in scoring by Colonial’s Spencer Dalzell with 18.

BFAS romped over Christino’s Pizza, 61-33; Les Ollsen led with 14 for BFAS. Raiders keyed Landworks, 59-43, in a game led in scoring by Raiders’ Tim Terry with 19, and Minnow Motors beat Matt’s Auto, 61-47; Matt Kennedy of Matt’s Auto led with 23.

BFAS burned Germantown in the B/C Division play-in game, winning 44-39 in overtime. Tyler Fuchs had 15 for BFAS.
