Staatsburg crash caused by texting, police say

, 23, of Red Hook, was arrested April 27 in Staatsburg and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after a car crash on Route 9, according to a State Police report. State troopers responded to the one-car accident just south of Dinsmore Golf Course, where was allegedly texting while driving before veering off the west shoulder, striking a guardrail and coming to a stop in the middle of the road. State police reported that a positive breath sample revealed a blood alcohol content of .14 percent. was issued tickets to appear in court.
