Kingston woman killed in Route 9G car crash in Tivoli

A late-night car crash near the Tivoli intersection of Route 9G on April 30 claimed the life of a 30-year-old Kingston mother who worked at The Rhinecliff Hotel.

Amanda Timbrouck was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident at 11:15pm, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. She was alone in the car, a Sheriff’s report said, and appeared to be heading south when she lost control of the vehicle approximately 1,000 feet north of Kidd Lane.

The vehicle then went into a sideslip, exited the roadway, and struck a tree on the western shoulder, the report added, citing unsafe speed as a possible factor in the crash. The investigation, however, is ongoing.

According to her obituary, Timbrouck was a 2002 Kingston High School graduate. While in high school, she also went to classes at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and had aspirations of being a fashion designer.

She was also a singer, and a member of the choir at Riverview Missionary Baptist Church in Kingston when she was young. She had begun singing again recently, at open-mic nights in the area.

She attended Ulster County Community College, where she played on the volleyball team, before transferring to Marist College to study fashion. She left school when her daughter, Gabrielle Amanda Rogers, was born.

She had worked at the hotel in Rhinecliff as a waitress and sometimes a bartender for a year.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her parents, Brian Timbrouck Sr., and Suzanne (Munk) Timbrouck; her fiancé, Darin A. Pugliese of Kingston; three grandparents, five siblings and a half-brother. She was predeceased by her birth mother, Wendy Williams.
