E-WANT NOT? E-WASTE NOT: An assortment of scrapped media devices are neatly placed after a hardy group of volunteers
turned out on a snowy Saturday, Jan. 18, for Red Hook’s second annual e-waste collection day at the Recycling Center. A total of 32 pallets of material, ranging from TVs to computer towers and monitors, was collected. The event—a partnership among the college, the town and the village, as well as Red Hook’s “10% Challenge,” a town-wide conservation initiative—was coordinated by Councilwoman Brenda Cagle, village Mayor Ed Blundell, and Laurie Husted, Sustainability Manager for Bard and chair of Red Hook’s Conservation Advisory Council, as part of the college’s 4th annual Civic Engagement Day.
