Update 5:35 pm: Mayor Cranna has now lifted the state of emergency and announced that residents should expect regular water service.

Tivoli Mayor Bryan Cranna declared a state of emergency for the village Monday following a water main break near Feroe Avenue that affected a number of streets in that vicinity.

Repairing the break will require water service to be interrupted from Pine Street east to North Road, which includes homes along Broadway, according to a news release from the mayor’s office.

Cranna said he is in contact with the Superintendent of Public Works James Simmons and is monitoring the situation which he believed would be resolved by the end of the day. He has also issued an Executive Order allowing the village to purchase necessary materials and or services without adhering to its procurement policy.

This is the second main break in four days in Tivoli. On Friday, there was a report of a water main break, which was fixed by the end of the day.
