Rhinebeck Town Board to fill vacancy in 2014

After Elizabeth Spinzia is sworn in as Supervisor Jan. 1, the town board will have a vacancy and will need someone to fill the spot for the third year of Spinzia’s current four-year term. In accordance with state law, the board will select someone to fill the seat until the next election in November.

According to a news release, the board plans to vote on the new member by majority vote sometime after Jan. 1. That person will serve until Dec. 31, 2014 with the 2014 election deciding who will serve for the final year of the term. Any town resident who is a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age may apply.
