Sexual assault reported in Tivoli

The Director of Bard Security sent the following news:

To the Bard Community:

A very brave Bard student was sexually assaulted by forcible touching [on May 5th] at 10pm near her apartment by the shuttle stop in Tivoli. She was just walking home from dinner down the illuminated and busy street. She was able fight him off.

The perpetrator is described as a white male, 17 or 18 years of age, blonde hair, unshaven, 5 foot 6.

This man is a sexual predator, and must be caught. I ask all who live
or visit Tivoli to:

  • Be vigilant and aware of any person getting close to you
  • Male and female students- you need to help when you see your brothers and sisters in a vulnerable circumstance

If you see a man that fits this description, call the New York State Police – (845) 876-4194/4033. Do not confront front him. I need to be called as well – my cell: (845) 464-5214 – anytime, day or night.

The New York State Police are the lead agency in this investigation. Our Red Hook Police friends and the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office are also assisting. If you see them in Tivoli – please thank them for their service – they are as fierce as I am in this capture.

Director of Bard Security
