Letters: Hannah Behrens listens, and understands

I am writing in support for Hannah Behrens for Ward 3 Councilperson in Hyde Park. She is THE choice to help continue the positive momentum in our town.

Hannah is incredibly qualified and intensely passionate about Hyde Park. She has been maintaining a Facebook page to inform the public about the work she’s already been doing. I know firsthand that she doesn’t have the time to post about every single one of the community events, flooding forums, and government and committee meetings she attends, but let me tell you: she’s been actively engaging in the political process for years. Hannah has a two-fold knowledge of this town’s history — both from the perspective of a historian, as well as someone who’s been physically showing up on Monday nights for Town Board meetings since 2009. Yep, that’s right: she’s been making local government part of her everyday life as a voting resident of this town for a long time.

There is only one choice for Ward 3: fill in the bubble for the person who has been keeping herself informed, engaged, and active in her government solely for the reason we ALL should: the government belongs to its constituents, and it is the responsibility of the constituents to educate themselves and make informed decisions regarding what happens here. When it comes to local government, you absolutely have a voice — and Hannah Behrens wants to hear what you have to say.
