Rhinebeck Farmers Market up and running

The Rhinebeck Farmers Market just opened its new year, marking its 20th year as the Hudson Valley’s largest and most diverse farmers market.

Named Hudson Valley Magazine’s Best of the Hudson Valley for five consecutive years and a “Hudson Valley Essential” by Bon Appetit Magazine this spring, the outdoor market operates in the municipal parking lot of the village every Sunday.

“Many of our vendors, including Lynnhaven goat cheese, Ronnybrook Farm Dairy, Migliorelli, Knoll Krest Farm eggs and Dancing Ewe cured meats, olive oil and cheeses sell directly to New York City restaurants and at the Union Square Market,” Georgia Dent, Rhinebeck Farmers Market board member, said in a news release. “It’s pretty amazing that we have access to these products practically in our backyard!”

There are 42 vendors represented at the Rhinebeck market, with new vendors this year including disabled veteran-owned Continental Organics, which produces micro-greens and fish in a RAS (recirculating aquaponic/agriculture system); Harvest Spirits Farms Distillery, and Raven and Boar pork, lamb, pastured poultry and ready-to-eat sausage on a stick.

The market is open every Sunday from 10am to 2pm at 61 East Market Street in the village of Rhinebeck.
