Vlasta “Val” Schwarz, 103, a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck, NY.
Val was a member of Red Hook Senior Citizens, Red Hook Homemakers, and the Rhinebeck Senior Citizens. She is also a member of St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook.
Born on February 25, 1909, in Czechoslovakia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Pazdera) Reichl. .
Vlasta married Edward Schwarz, Sr. on November 26, 1931 in New York, NY and he predeceased her on September 6, 1995.
She is survived by her son; Edward (Mary Lou) Schwarz, Jr. of Jefferson, NY, and a daughter Carol Schwarz of Albany, NY, and her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 16th, 2012 at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook, NY. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 3 to 6 pm.
