Julia M. Ransom, 98, of Germantown, and a lifelong area resident, passed away on Monday, October 29th, 2012 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck.
Julia worked at the apple packing plant for George W. Saulpaugh & Son Inc for many years, having worked well into her 80’s.
Born on August 14, 1914, in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Maude (Dykeman) Wagert.
Julia married Arnold V Ransom on November 25, 1944 in Manorton, NY and he predeceased her on January 27, 1989.
She is survived by a daughter; JoAnn Russell of Germantown, two grandchildren; Marcie Russell of Germantown, and Keith Russell of Germantown, three great grandchildren; Gordon, Stephanie, and Karl Russell, all of Germantown.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son; David Ransom on January 10, 2002.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 10 – 11:30 AM and a funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. The Rev. Mark Frickey will officiate. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Manorton.
