Red Hook High School senior Molly Schroeder has been named a Commended Student in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.
According to Principal Roy Paisley, a letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented “to this scholastically talented senior.”
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
“The young people recognized as Commended Students represent some of the best and brightest minds in the country as demonstrated by their outstanding performance in our highly competitive program,” said a spokesperson for the NMSC.
