Thomas A. Graham, 53, a longtime Red Hook resident and currently of Lake Katrine, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
Tommy was a well known greeter and clerk at many local businesses – including the former Jamesway in Rhinebeck, Red Hook Drug Store, Red Hook Extra Mart, and most recently Sear’s and Target in Kingston. For many years, Tommy took great pride and joy in working at the Dutchess County Fair.
Tommy enjoyed bowling, animals, and telling jokes. He also liked traveling and took great joy going on cruises. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, professional wrestling, the Albany River Rats, and participated in the Special Olympics.
Born on October 15th, 1958, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Orange, NJ, he is the son of Jean (Schwarzwaelder) Graham of Red Hook and the late Joseph Charles Graham, Jr. He attended the Red Hook Central Schools.
In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by his brothers; Joseph Graham and his wife Donna of Hillsborough, NJ, and John Graham his wife Sue of Liverpool, NY, two sisters; Nancy Graham and her fiancé Joe Kospa of Rhinebeck, and Marguerite “Peggy” Graham and special friend Robin Pentz of Saugerties, NY, two nieces; Mandi and her husband Fred Oltz of Baldwinsville, NY, and Jodie and her husband David Griffin of Falls Church, VA, a nephew; Jeffrey Graham and his wife Kree of Wayland, MA, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 at Linwood Spiritual Center, 50 Linwood Rd., Rhinebeck, NY. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Monday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.
Memorial donations may be made in Thomas’s memory to the Sisters of St. Ursala, 50 Linwood Rd., Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
