Count W. Roger Tyszkiewicz, 92, of Staatsburg, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY.
Born on June 21, 1920 in Warsaw, Poland, he was the son of the late Francois and Zenona (Dzinska) Tyszkiewicz. He became a United States citizen in 1953.
Mr. Tyszkiewicz married Ingeborg Hätel on Dec. 14, 1957 in Connecticut and she predeceased him on November 9, 2009.
Mr. Tyszkiewicz was a renowned architect. He received his formal education at Warsaw Polytechnic in Poland and also at the Academie Royale des Beaux Artsin Bruxelles, Belgique. He was a self employed architect who was involved with many projects in NYC area, the Hudson Valley, and several throughout the country.
Mr. Tyszkiewicz, along with his wife Ingeborg, also worked as licensed real estate brokers in Rhinebeck.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brother, Colonel Zdziswaw Janusz Tyszkiewicz.
He is survived by many local friends and his extended family in Europe.
As per Mr. Tyszkiewicz request, a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in Polish at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Church of the Good Shepherd, Rhinebeck, NY. Fr. John W. Borzuchowski will officiate. Burial will be at Wurtemburg Cemetery, Rhinebeck.
There will be no calling hours.
