With more than a dozen supporters in attendance, the Rhinebeck Jewish Center’s proposal to build a temple at 102 Montgomery St. received nearly unanimous support at a public hearing Aug. 7 at Village Hall. One neighbor asked that trees on the property line not be removed during or after construction, and the planning board asked that all trees on the property be marked on the plan for the next meeting. With the public hearing complete, the center is waiting for a zoning variance from the Village ZBA — expected to meet on August 16 — to proceed. This application will return to the planning board at a future meeting.
