Evalena Josephine Hanlon, 81, recently of Germantown and a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.
Born on November 12, 1930, in Red Hook, she was the daughter of the late William and Lottie (Feller) Pulver. Evalena married Charles Hanlon, Sr. on December 21, 1946 in Red Hook, NY and he predeceased her.
For many years Evalena worked as a waitress in several local restaurants, most notably; Andy’s, the Nice & Easy, and Fosters Coach House.
Evalena was active in the Red Hook-Rhinebeck Lodge 2022 BPOE.
She is survived by her daughters; Patricia Best of Ingleside, TX, Tracy Kyllonen of Shelton, WA, and Virginia Ellis of Houston, TX, a son; Thomas Hanlon of Rancho Santa Marguerita, CA, her sisters; Louise Breazzano of Palmetto, FL, Mabel Mergenthaler of Germantown, NY, and Katherine Bruggemen of Walden, NY, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Charles, she is predeceased by a son; Charles H. “Bussy” Hanlon, Jr., a sister; Jean Coons and three brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday July 27, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook. The Reverend Fred C. Cartier will officiate.
There will be no calling hours.
