Armando Spagnoli, 89, a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
For many years, he worked as an industrial engineer with Ferrox Cube in Saugerties.
Armando was a communicant of St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook and a former member of its Holy Name Society
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a flight officer specializing in navigation and as bombardier.
Born on January 11, 1923, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Abramo and Jennie (Appollonari) Spagnoli.
Armando married Patricia Ann Collins on April 29, 1950 in Bronx, NY and she predeceased him on July 17, 1988.
He is survived by his loving family; three sons; Gerard (Ellen) Spagnoli of Millbrook, Joseph Spagnoli of Red Hook, and Paul (Liz) Spagnoli of Red Hook, four daughters; Patricia Spagnoli of Kingston, Maureen (Bill) Boyd of Red Hook, Mary Agnes (Don) Terpening of Port Ewen, and Regina Wiltshire of Germantown, a sister; Mary Adamian of Charlotte, NC, twenty seven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Gino Spagnoli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
