Brewery at CIA gets state OK

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed a bill allowing The Culinary Institute of America to manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages, clearing the way for the college to develop a small brewery on its Hyde Park campus.

Wine showcase fundraiser to honor Hyde Park couple

Greystone Programs will hold its “Silver Anniversary Celebration” to mark 25 years of its International Wine Showcase & Auction next month, an event that raises funds for Expressive Arts and Therapy Programs for children, adults and families with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Modified Hyde Park town seal approved


The new Hyde Park town seal no longer has 32 stars representing the 32nd President around its perimeter after the Town Board requested words to show Franklin D. Roosevelt’s renowned connection to the town.

Family/child endangerment charges

Arrested Aug. 1 in Hyde Park and charged with five counts of aggravated family offense, a felony, according to a Hyde Park Police report. He reportedly violated an order of protection.

New grant for Dutchess County SPCA

The grant was made in the memory of Adam Rubin and recognizes the contribution of the DCSPCA to the health and well-being of people with mental illness through volunteering opportunities and by providing pet companions.

Red Hook woman charged with grand larceny

Arrested Aug. 7 at the Red Hook Police Department in the village and was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies, as well as two counts of petty larceny and one count of forgery, all misdemeanors, according to a Red Hook Police report.

Town gets a new seal


The new seal celebrates the iconic view of the Hudson River from Hyde Park, long enjoyed by artists, residents and visitors to the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site.

California woman arrested after CIA incident

Arrested July 24 in Hyde Park and charged with burglary and robbery, both felonies, as well as unlawful imprisonment and petty larceny, both misdemeanors, and harassment, a violation, for a reported robbery at the Culinary Institute of America, according to a Hyde Park Police report.
